About Brajendra Kumar Brahma Central Library

The central library of Bodofa U. N. Brahma college started functioning with the establishment of the college on 18 July 1997. The library was housed in an assam type independent house facing a vast green campus towards the east. Initially, the library provided its service to the higher secondary students from 1997 to 2003. It was in 2003, the degree course was started and the library had its opportunity to disseminate the needed information and knowledge to the degree students. Thereafter the library was shifted to the present temporary building attached to the administrative section. The college also introduced commerce in 2010 and science stream in 2012 and the central library added its services to the said streams.

The Central Library is named after a renowned author and poet Brajendra Kumar Brahma, a resident of Batabari in Dotma, who was honoured with the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2015 for editing a Poetry anthology, Baydi Denkho Baydi Gabb. He was also the President of Bodo Sahitya Sabha.

The Brajendra Kumar Brahma Central Library is automated with KOHA library management software. The library has a reading room and a reference section along with the text books available for the courses.

The library has collection of more than 10000 print books, 4 newspapers, magazines and journals. The library subscribes N-List from INFLIBNET for e resources of e books, journals, etc.
